CREFC's 2022 Policy Program

6/1/2022  ·  by CRE Finance Council  ·  Other  ·  Legislation and Regulation

CREFC’s members and Advocacy Team work to shape the commercial real estate finance industry via its advocacy initiatives. Our goals are to ensure that this important sector of the U.S. economy remains on solid ground and able to provide liquidity to commercial real estate owners and investors. Through a collaborative process with our members, CREFC develops official policy positions that are presented as needed to legislators and regulators. These policies are developed by working side-by-side with CREFC’s Executive Committee, Board of Governors, Forum Leadership, and Policy Committee, which collectively represent all components of CRE finance. CREFC plays an important role in updating and keeping our members informed on the current state of the CRE finance market on the legislative and regulatory fronts. We also develop and distribute fact sheets and analyses online and in PDF format on all major CRE issues and inform members weekly of the latest developments via our highly regarded Policy and Capital Markets Briefing. To make a difference in the direction of our industry and its future, please register for a forum and participate in our advocacy efforts. As you’ll learn from this annual summary, there are a number of advocacy issues confronting our industry.
