FHFA Publishes Enterprises’ Duty-to-Serve Plans

On April 27, the Federal Housing Finance Agency published the 2022-2024 Underserved Markets Plans for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac (the Enterprises) under the Duty to Serve (DTS) Program. The Plans, published every three years, are required under a 2016 FHFA rule that implemented the DTS provisions mandated by the Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008. (The statute requires the Enterprises to serve manufactured housing, affordable housing preservation, and rural housing by increasing the liquidity of mortgage financing for very low-, low-, and moderate-income families.)
